Patch gallery items to a SharePoint list when entire form is saved

Hi,

I am customizing a SharePoint form and need to patch all items from a gallery I inserted in the form to another SharePoint list, preferably by using the 'Save' default button from the form, is this possible? At this time, I can only figure out how to patch the gallery items by using a patch with 'OnSelect' of the gallery. I don't like this way of doing it since it creates the gallery items prior to the actual form being saved (and I don't like that you have to click on the gallery items to trigger it).  The goal is to have the gallery items created when the entire form is saved. Is this possible?

Hi @Alanisp22 ,

Yes is Possible.

for this issue - you can follow the below approach,

Select the for and Set the OnSucccess property for the for and use the code for the patch, if you want to Patch all the record ,you can use the ForAll function.

ForAll(TimesheetDateEntryCollection,
If(!IsBlank(Title) && Value(WorkingHours)>0,
Patch(TimeSheetEntryBook,
Defaults(TimeSheetEntryBook),
{
Title:Text(Title),

WorkingHours:Value(WorkingHours),
MasterID:Form2.LastSubmit.ID,
User: {
                '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
                Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|"&Lower(varCurrentUser.Email),
                DisplayName: varCurrentUser.FullName,
                Email: Lower(varCurrentUser.Email),
                Picture: varCurrentUser.Image,
                Department: "",
                JobTitle: ""

              }

})));

Hi @VijayTailor ,

Thank you for looking into this. I tried applying your suggestion but it didn't work for my form. Do I need to add anything in addition to the ForAll and Patch functions? Here's what I added to the forms 'OnSuccess':

ForAll(DetailedService,
Patch(ServiceTracker,
Defaults(ServiceTracker),
{
Servicetype:Servicename1.Text}))

Do I need to add 'ResetForm(Self); RequestHide()' to this as well?

Here are the details regarding my form and gallery collection:

DetailedService - Name of my gallery's collection
ServiceTracker - Name of my SharePoint list

Servicetype: Column name from my SharePoint list
Servicename1 - Name of the data card that displays the service name I need to insert into the ServiceType column in SharePoint.

Hi @Alanisp22 ,

what is the Issue you are getting,

My concern is "Servicetype" column name is which type. Like Lookup/Choice type.

if you are trying to patch the column like complex type then you need use like little differt ways to Patch.

See the information below -

If you want  to Patch simply choice column then you can use code like below -

WorkType:{
            Value: WorkType,
            '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference"
        }

if you want to Patch - Column Type is Lookup Column.
then you can use code like below -

'Project Name':{
            Id:ProjectID,
            Value: Project,
            '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference"
        }

if you want to Patch Columns Like People or Group Type then you can use code Like below -

User: {
                '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
                Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|"&Lower(varCurrentUser.Email),
                DisplayName: varCurrentUser.FullName,
                Email: Lower(varCurrentUser.Email),
                Picture: varCurrentUser.Image,
                Department: "",
                JobTitle: ""

              }

Hope to help you to resolve your issue.

@VijayTailor Thank you! It works! I needed to refresh.
