Patching Person/Group Sharepoint Column from a Combo Box

Hi everyone!

I'm currently running into an issue when trying to implement the Patch() function on an Edit form in PowerApps. So far, I have been able to update every type of Sharepoint column except the Person/Group, specifically through the usage of Office365 Users.

I want to be able to patch the Sharepoint list through the Office365 users selected in a multi-select combo box. Below are some screenshots that highlight my current problem. I also included my method for filtering through the Office365 query. I also included the error message I am receiving when I try to submit these changes.

Any help for patching single select or multi-select combo box for a Person/Group column would be greatly appreciated.

So, #1 is concerning!   According to the formula, it should not be empty.

BUT...SelectedItems is based off of what is Selected (not the Items).  The Items is important for the DefaultSelectedItems (DSI) property because the record types must match.

So, what is your DSI property at this point?

The DSI property for DataCardValue18 is: Parent.Default

There is where your problem is coming from!

Parent.Default will be a table of SharePoint users, not a table of Office365 Users.  So, the record types will never match.  

So...you may be noticing that none of the items are getting selected. 

PowerApps comboboxes do a funny little "ghosting" thing when items do not match - it will show them in the list (visually) of the selected items, but they will not actually be selected from the real Items of the combobox.

And since you are referencing the SelectedItems, that is going to give those results.

Okay, that's interesting.. so what do I replace Parent.Default with? I am seeing the DSI on related posts that look similar to that of the Update field of the data card.

Hi Anonymous and @RandyHayes ,

I've encountered the same problem.

After I deleted DSI, it was able to update the SP List.

Problem now is, that DSI stays then with those selected Person and doesnt update when I switch the record.

What value has to be in DSI?
