Patching an option set works on desktop but not on mobile

Using the below formula in desktop PowerApps the 'Type of Logger' field in the data source (CDS) is updated with the relevant option set value (it is selected on a dropdown elsewhere in the app).

However, when publishing and using the app on mobile the Patch works but the option set value for 'Type of Logger' does not update in the datasource with any information and no clue as to why this is.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Patch(
'Logger Deployments',
Defaults('Logger Deployments'),
{
Address: Address,
'Date Deployed': DateDeployed,
'Type of Logger': ssplc_typeoflogger.Value
}
);

I have also tried the following:

'Type of Logger': LookUp(Choices('TW Types of Logger'), Value = ssplc_typeoflogger.Value).Value,

Again: works on desktop, not on mobile.

Now I've tried patching it directly with a value instead of using logic/filtering:

'Type of Logger': 'TW Types of Logger'.Forensic,

Once again: works on desktop, not on mobile.

Re: Patching an option set works on desktop but not on mobile

Hi @chris61 ,

Do you want to patch option set field to CDS?

I have made a test both on PC and mobile, and both of them can be patched successfully.

My formula:

Patch(Accounts,Gallery1.Selected,{TestOption:'TestOption (Accounts)'.'2'})

Annotation 2019-10-10 105608.pngPCIMG_0853.PNGMobile

So it seems to be not easy to reproduce your issue, could you create a new option set field, and have a try again to check if your issue is gone?

Best regards,

Sik

Re: Patching an option set works on desktop but not on mobile

Thank you for your reply. Having conducted further testing what I'm finding is that the option set updates when it is triggered using an OnSelect event of a button, however, it does not work using OnTimerEnd on a Timer. Why would this be?
