People Column x Text Column

HI everyone

What is the best way to save people using powerapps and sharepoint list?

Save as text or save in peole column in sharepoint?

There are performance differences?

If the option to save as text, how do get user metadata to show picture in app?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @alessandramaced

Person or Groupcolumn  is best to use in my Opinion, however you create a list with all Users and run it lookup, but the choice yours, There no performance differences to Person or Group

@alessandramaced ,

I would urge you to take @rubin_boer 's advice here - a Person column is a (highly) complex field type and you will likely have difficulties doing data manipulation with it (Delegation, Sorting, Filtering). As stated, the Office365Users connector will get you all the information you need and you can write back to a text column. I have a blog on data structure that may be useful reading for you.

hi @alessandramaced it depends on your use case, if you just need the name then a text field will do as you can get the information from the O365Connecttor for looking up users. you can get the picture from the o365 connector as well. if you must upload a bulk of people rows then text will be quicker than the record but not significantly so that you can make coffee and come back. so again, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve.
