People Picker - Circle photos?

For some reason, the People Picker control list in PowerApps shows the profile pictures from AD as squares, even though on SharePoint and every other Microsoft service they are circles, so it's weird that they don't follow their own design.

Is there a setting or workaround on the control to somehow to make them circles?

@juphi17

Sounds like you are having a frustrating evening!  Fortunately this problem has a very simple solution.  Change these properties on your image control

RadiusTopLeft: 180
RadiusTopRight: 180
RadiusBottomLeft: 180
RadiusBottomRight: 180

@mdevaney has the right answer, but one additional comment.  If the photo has any kind of variable height then make sure you set the radius = height/2 instead of a set number.  You should also make sure the photo is square to get a circle.

Hi @juphi17 ,

Is your data source Office 365 Users connector? Or did you mean the Person and Group column in SharePoint list connector?

How did you set the "People Picker control list"? Is it a combo box control or a list box control? Please share the related formulas here. And a screenshot of your app would be even better.

Do mask sensitive data before uploading.

Regards,

Mona

Haha yeah it was pretty frustrating yesterday 😅. Thanks for your response! I'm not seeing those radius properties for the people picker on the Properties nor Advanced tabs.  The People Picker in PowerApps uses a combobox with 'Person' layout.  Is the radius properties somewhere else that I'm simply not seeing?

@juphi17

Could you please show me the app screen?  Looks like you are updating the properties of a ComboBox?  I thought you were updating an Image control in a gallery.

Hi @v-monli-msft ,

My data source is a SharePoint List with a Person and Group column.  I initially tried the Office 365 Users connector, but then realised it wasn't needed since the SharePoint Integration already handles that and we also don't want to have users go through an additional confusing step of having to 'Agree' to using that connector upon launch of the form.

I simply clicked "Customized in PowerApps' from our SharePoint List, and the field automatically got added as a ComboBox with "Person" layout as you can see in the screenshot above.  You can see the control in action below. When a user enters a name in that field, it shows results from Active Directory connected to SharePoint.  I'm just wondering if there's a way to format the search results, particularly the profile pics as circles instead of square, since there doesn't seem to be any radius or shape properties for the control (at least that I can see).

Screenshot of the control in my reply above! 🙂
In PowerApps, ComboBoxes have 3 layout options (Single, Double, Person). So by default, it uses a ComboBox with 'Person' layout for 'People and Group' columns in SharePoint Lists.

@juphi17

Seems I was mistaken on what you were trying accomplish.  I can't think of a way at the moment...

Yeah I had a feeling that was the case.  Hopefully at Ignite next month they announce some major new features that allow more customization and making the overall no-code/low-code designing a lot more intuitive and consistent like in InfoPath, SharePoint and Microsoft Forms. 🤞
