People Picker search

I have several people picker combo boxes in my EditForm. One of them behaves differently, in that the list of search results pops up as soon as you select the control (not desired, as irrelevant entries come up), while on the others, it only does so once you start typing something in the box (desired, only matching results).
I've compared all the properties but can't find anything that would explain this difference.

Any clue anybody?

Hi @Beat,

Have you customized the DataCard after it is generated from SharePoint list?

THe default behavior for the Person Combo Box should be:

1. Display 0 records if not search string (or no records found with the search string) entered,

2. Show related records once there are records matches with the search string,

You may try to "Reset " the combo box by delete the customized DataCard, then enable it again from the Data Pane:

For more information about the Combo Box control, see:

Regards,

Michael

Hi @v-micsh-msft, with regards to

1. Display 0 records if not search string (or no records found with the search string) entered: There is no search string in the Items property. If I add one, it ignores it (property SearchFields is ["Claims"]) and still shows all items, no matter if it is a real search string (e.g. an existing user name) or a fake one (e.g. "xyzabc").

2. Show related records once there are records matches with the search string: works fine when typing in the field.
