People field has no data

I have a SP list with a people field. I have the list set to "Choose from" a SP group. That group has 3 members.

When I try to put in data I get no match unless I type out the entire email address - is that normal?

Also I get the error message in the attached image. The domain is the same as the SP domain, so I don't understand teh "External Sharing" reference. I have also attached a shot from the list of group members from the AD.

When used in PowerApps I do not get any members in the list.

Any idea what's wrong??

Laura Rogers tells me that Powerapps will not accept data from fields set to a group.

After switching the field to "All Users" I can get some functionality. However, I need to limit this field to only a few people. Maybe I can put a Filter on the Powerapp data. Not sure what I can use to filter by though

Hi @BrianS ,

When you create this person and group column from SharePoint site, what are the related settings in below options you set?

Please share these settings so that we could test accordingly.

Sorry - I thought I included that in the original post.
