Pie chart in Powerapps from an excel data

Hello All,

 I am trying to create a pie chart of out my excel data but i do not have idea how it works..  Could someone help me to build a pie chart with below details.

Data in the excel is a project inventory where

> the projects are categorised as High , Med , Low , On hold.

> I want the pie chart to be of 4 slices , when hovered on , it should show high, med, low and on hold..

> when clicked on High , it should display the projects with high category in a gallery or something.. similarly when clicked on med it should display all projects with medium category and so on.

Excel Data

Projects      Priority

A                  High

B                  Low

C                  High

D                  Low

E                   On hold

F                   On hold

I have attached the design of the pie chart and gallery , along with the excel data .. Looking for some suggestions. thanks in advance.

Hello,

You can try with this :

Page.OnVisible:
Clear(High_C);;
Clear(Med_C);;
Clear(Low_C);;
Clear(OnHold_C);;
ForAll(ExcelData;
If(Priority = "High";Collect(High_C;1));;
If(Priority = "Med";Collect(Med_C;1));;
If(Priority = "Low";Collect(Low_C;1));;
If(Priority = "High";Collect(OnHold_C;1))
);;
ClearCollect(PieData;
{Prio: "High"; Count_P: CountRows(High_C)};
{Prio: "Med"; Count_P: CountRows(Med_C)};
{Prio: "Low"; Count_P: CountRows(Low_C)};
{Prio: "On hold"; Count_P: CountRows(OnHold_C)}
)

You create a chart with PieData in Items statement.

After that, you create a DropDown with that code on Items :

Filter(ExcelData;
Priority = PieChart1.Selected.Prio
)

I hope it will help you 🙂

Keep me informed!

Could  you please be explain in details... this is kind of confusing...

@Anonymous,

I'm sorry I didn't explain my answer at all.

You have your Excel file linked to the Powerapp (ExcelData).

You have a blank sheet. In this one, you create a chart.

You set the OnVisible statement of your sheet to :

Clear(High_C);;
Clear(Med_C);;
Clear(Low_C);;
Clear(OnHold_C);; /* Here, you empty all the collections you'll use after */
ForAll(ExcelData; /* Here, you just browse your file line by line */
If(Priority = "High";Collect(High_C;1));;
If(Priority = "Med";Collect(Med_C;1));;
If(Priority = "Low";Collect(Low_C;1));;
If(Priority = "High";Collect(OnHold_C;1)) /* Here, you ask the value of Priority on the line you are on : depending on that value, you just add '1' in the collection that correspond with your browse*/
);;
ClearCollect(PieData; /* Here, you create a collection with 4 lines, getting ["High","Med","Low","On hold"] and the number of rows in the collections that correspond (you've got 1 line at each occurence) */
{Prio: "High"; Count_P: CountRows(High_C)};
{Prio: "Med"; Count_P: CountRows(Med_C)};
{Prio: "Low"; Count_P: CountRows(Low_C)};
{Prio: "On hold"; Count_P: CountRows(OnHold_C)}
) /* All that collection is the data for the piechart */

When you have this, you can just get a good PieChart with

PieData /* The collection you created */

in the Items statement of your Pie.

After that, you can get all your projects with that priority in a list or a dropdown with that code in the item statement :

Filter(ExcelData;
Priority = PieChart1.Selected.Prio /* That code will get all rows of your file where the priority have the value of the PieChart part you selected */
)

Let me precise that all my code contains ";;" and ";". You will maybe have to replace with ";" and ","

I made some comments to help, I hope it will be helpful for you...

Best regards,

Louis

@Anonymous,

You mean that you don't get any value in your gallery when you select an other priority ?

Yes

That's weird... For me it's working well

Can you show me your code ? That's maybe because the syntax isn't the same

Clear(High_C);
Clear(Med_C);
Clear(Low_C);
Clear(OnHold_C); /* Here, you empty all the collections you'll use after */
ForAll(Table2, /* Here, you just browse your file line by line */
If(Priority = "high",Collect(High_C,1));
If(Priority = "med",Collect(Med_C,1));
If(Priority = "Low",Collect(Low_C,1));
If(Priority = "On Hold",Collect(OnHold_C,1)) /* Here, you ask the value of Priority on the line you are on : depending on that value, you just add '1' in the collection that correspond with your browse*/
);
ClearCollect(PieData, /* Here, you create a collection with 4 lines, getting ["High","Med","Low","On hold"] and the number of rows in the collections that correspond (you've got 1 line at each occurence) */
{Prio: "High", Count_P: CountRows(High_C)},
{Prio: "Med" ,Count_P: CountRows(Med_C)},
{Prio: "Low", Count_P: CountRows(Low_C)},
{Prio: "On hold", Count_P: CountRows(OnHold_C)}
) /* All that collection is the data for the piechart */

this is in the visible property of the screen.

Filter(Table2,
Priority = PieChart4.Selected.Prio)

this is in the gallery item ,

Yes I found it :
I think you changed the syntax of priorities values with ["high";"med";"Low";"On Hold"]

That's ok, like that you can select good values in the pie chart.

But you also have to make the same changes in the ClearCollect PieData, because here the gallery only search with "High", "Med" and "On hold".

That's what you gotta have :

ClearCollect(PieData, /* Here, you create a collection with 4 lines, getting ["High","Med","Low","On hold"] and the number of rows in the collections that correspond (you've got 1 line at each occurence) */
{Prio: "high", Count_P: CountRows(High_C)},
{Prio: "med" ,Count_P: CountRows(Med_C)},
{Prio: "Low", Count_P: CountRows(Low_C)},
{Prio: "On Hold", Count_P: CountRows(OnHold_C)}
)
