Power App does not trigger Flow from some accounts saying that there is no connection configured for this service

I created a HelpDesk App based on the HelpDesk Template (installation guide used) with its HelpDesk Flow and applied some changes to it. I tested it and everything seemed to work. To be able to develop the App further after going into production, I packed everything into a solution, exported it, and imported it into another environment. I tested it there again and ran into a problem, I didn't have in the Dev environment. When I submit a ticket with my test account, I get an error in PowerApps saying "HelpDeskFlow.Run failed: There is no connection configured for this service." (translated from German). The Flow was not triggered, but the Ticket was created successfully and everything else works. When I use the account I created the app with, the flow gets triggered and works fine.

What I tried:

- Change flow trigger to the new "Power Apps (V2)" trigger and assign the test account as a user of the flow. --> Same behavior

- Compare connections listed for the app in both environments

- Publish all solution changes in the dev environment and Re-import the app to the new environment

I hope someone can help, I didn't find any solutions to this on the internet.

I would be very grateful!

Okay... I can't remeber any other option... My advice would be for you to re-do the connections, remove the flow and add it again to the app and, if none of those work, share the flow with them (but I don't think that this should be a option, only on last resource).

You can also try to clear the cache so the user do the connections again.

Yes this is a quite common problem. A quick workaround, is to go into the app (in production), remove all connections, add them again, save and publish the app. This should reconnect your flows with the app.  That's a bit tedious, but environment variables could help you out here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/data-platform/environmentvariables

Hi @Numan_Dev ,

Please refer to below thread where you could find the solution for the same error message:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Connecting-To-Data/connection-not-configured-for-this-service/td...

  1. Navigate to Power Apps Admin Center
  2. Selected the Environment you are working.
  3. Click on Settings on top bar.
  4. Go to User + Permissions >> Security Roles
  5. Under the Security Roles, find the Basic User role , click on  ellipses (...) >> Edit
  6. Under Customization tab >>  Select Process >> assign Read access to the Organization

Hope this helps.

Hi @Nogueira1306,

Thanks for your reply!

I couldn't apply the changes because I imported it as managed solution. But I tried to delete the solution and import it as an unmanaged solution, after which I had to re-do the connections and also add the flow again. I also re-assigned my test account as user of the flow. Unfortunately, none of these actions helped.

Clearing the cache only lead to logging in again without accepting the connections again. But I could do this when I deleted the solution and imported it as unmanaged, which also didn't change anything.

Best regards,

Numan

Hi @larschrjensen,

Can you explain how/why environment variables should help?

Numan

Hi @v-jefferni,

Thanks for your reply!

I changed the security role settings as you suggested, but unfortunately this didn't resolve my problem.

I also checked out the other thread and also changed the security role of "solution" to "read" which also didn't help.

What was confusing is, that only my "creator" account had the basic user role, why I added my test account but nothing changed.

I also compared the security role settings and basic user list with the settings of the dev environment before changing them, and there were no differences...

I also tried these changes after deleting and reimporting the solution, but this time as unmanaged, as the other thread stated this would resolve the issue, which wasn't true for me.

Kind regards,

Numan

It seems that I solved the problem.

I looked up the other post @v-jefferni posted and another post that someone linked there. Some people had different basic user role changes that worked for them. It worked after I changed "Process" to the following:

Numan_Dev_0-1647427881002.png

Which I think should be the solution.

Now after that I wanted to find out which changes were necessary and which were not. The problem is that I could undo everything, and it still works (also after logging in again). Maybe some changes only apply after some time? Does someone know?

What I changed again:

- Solution is now managed

- Test account was removed from "basic user"

- Test account was removed from the Flow user permission

- Process looks like this:

Best

Numan

Hi @Numan_Dev ,

There is no official doc says this but yes it will take some time to take effect after any changes to security roles.

See the thread below:

https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/214597/security-role-changes-not-r...

So browser caching may also have an impact.

Hi @v-jefferni,

thanks for your reply!

A few days have now passed, and I noticed that I had to add the test account as run-only user again, but after that everything still works after undoing the steps.

So I can't tell what solved the issue.
