Power Apps Connected to Large data

I am thinking of connecting PowerApps to SQL table containing a million records.

Functionality would be to Search through the records.

Will that be feasible. Any suggestions ?

Are you using collection to store data ?

If yes, May be you can directly use filter/search query on sql table rather than storing data at once.

Since collection can get maximum of 2000 items at once. If you want to use collection then you have to write a logic to get all data in collection.

So if you can avoid collection and directly write filter expression on SQL table then you can filter on all sql data at once.

Hi @manjotsingh057,

You should have no real issues connecting to a Large Data set as long as your Queries are to be delegated to the SQL Server:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/delegation-list gives a list of Functions that can be used with SQL

If you don't follow this, then you can only Query on 500(Can be increased to 2000) as the processing is then done on the app.

SQL handles almost all functions though so you should be fine.

Thanks,
Nicky

Thanks @OneThing

I am using Filter function with SQL as database .

But again if i try to filter and the database returns more than 500 search results then  it is not able to load the result data and show.

However if it returns less than 500 items, it works fine.

I wonder why it is not working since filter is a delegable function.

Any suggestions here ?

I am having the same problem with SQL.  Not querying past 2000 items.  Have you found a solution?
