Hi @Uzumaki92 ,

If you have M365 license, then you get Dataverse for Teams only, you do not get Full Dataverse access. And for Full Dataverse access, yes you would require PowerApps Premium license.

M365 license also give you to run workflows (Power Automate Flows) within app context.

So, now you might be having a question that what does this phrase “within app context” actually means and how does it affect your usage of license in the Platform.

So, we can say that a for a flow to be “within context”, it has to be using the same data sources for triggers or actions when it comes to the canvas applications used data sources. For example, if my created canvas app is using SharePoint Online and Office 365 Outlook. The flow has to have trigger or actions that are using the same data source.

An example of a flow not being within context would be: When a mail arrives and you process the information in it using an Azure function and sending it to SharePoint. Or another example can be of using PowerBI connector and send a report through the email. Now technically, the PowerBI would be using the some SQL tables for the report generation but the flow isn’t using those tables in its context.

I have edited my previous response with some screenshot. Hope you have gone through them and also download the lates pdf file related to Power Platform which gives you clear picture.

If Power Automate flow is in the scoop of the app what is already premium you and all users who have power Apps premium license do not need Power Automate license but if there is a flow what is out of the scoop of the app owner of that flow need Power Automate license.

To make it even more simple if power Automate use power Apps v2 trigger and this trigger is linked to premium app this flow can be premium and use Premium connectors but only in Scoop of the app.

If you have a flow what will be schedule or trigger base on event like when item is created or something and it use premium connectors owner who managing this flow need to have premium but users who will add items to Datavers or List will not require any license just keep in mind that all apps and flows using Datavers are Premium any way 🙂

I do hope this have sense

Hi @Uzumaki92 , If you are using standard connectors like SharePoint Online, Office 365 outlook in app and flow then M365 license will also work. M365 license also give Data verse capabilities: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/pricing-billing-skus

https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2085130 Download latest pdf file to understand licensing in Power Platform.

PowerApps Premium License is required if you want to use premium connectors and full Dataverse capabilities:
