Power Apps Validate AD User before submission

I have a field that users select from AD and I need to validate that the user is active before submission. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous,

What do you mean by an active user?

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Actually, each user within Azure AD is active in theory. If a user indeed leaves the company, you could not find this person from Azure AD connector.

If a user has left the organization, the list will show Unknown in columns such as User name and Email address. Also, there is a known-issue where some of the columns might still have value as Unknown even for the users who are still in the organization. In such a case, we could only wait.

To sum up, you may not determine that if a user is active or not in real time, which is a known issue for Azure AD connector.

If you want this feature to be added, please submit an idea here:

User have been submitting requests and then the flow is failing saying the user could not be validated. They are searching the AD when selecting the user.
