Power Apps and Power Automate Licensing

Hello everyone,

do you have any website or blog which can give more clarity to the Licensing Model of Power Apps and Power Automate?

We are currently subscribed under Office E3 licenses.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Soham

@roysoham,

There are two types of connectors inside PowerAutomate/PowerApss  - standard connector and premium connector. The main differences between this two categories is that to access the first one you only need a Microsoft 365 license (office 365 E3 is one of that) and to access the second one you need a PowerAutomate/PowerApps license.

Here is a list with Office 365 plans (except the Microsoft 365 Apps bussiness / entreprise)  that give you access to  Power Automate/Power Apps using the standard connectors.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-descripti... .

If you want to access data using premium connector (here is a large list with this connectors) you'll need PowerAutomate / PowerApps license (for you as app developer and for each user accessing the app / flow).

Hope it helps !

@roysoham

In addition to @gabibalaban's advice, I would also suggest the PDF licensing guide beneath, which provides in-depth details of licensing.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Based on the Microsoft Power Platform licensing guide page 30, there are different Microsoft Licenses which could be used to grant access to a user to the complete suite. However, can someone here guide me and inform, what is the difference between all these plans (in terms of power platform)?

For e.g User A has a Microsoft Office E3 license and User B has a Microsoft Office F3 license, both are entitled to use Power Platform (based on the licensing guide). Are there any differences on the resources available for User A and User B?

Is this the only link available to know the differences and build a case study?

Hi @roysoham

The seeded Power Apps license from the E3 and F3 plans are comparative. In terms of Power Apps, an E3 plan offers no more or less than an F3 plan, and vice versa. Effectively, both these licences provide access to standard connectors and SharePoint (but not premium connectors).

I think that the link you gave above provides the best summary of the different plans.
