I am able to build an app using powerbiintegration.data, but let's say I publish and close the session. Then I come back to work on it some more. Every session after the initial setup shows no data in any of the tables or fields that leverage powerbiintegration.data.
I have to constantly publish it, then go into Power BI and refresh to see how my changes affect the app.
Am I missing something? Why won't PowerApps pull the PowerBI data in every time I go to edit the app in the editor?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Would you please try add a button to Refresh the data after editing? Set the OnSelect property of the button to:
Refresh( DataSource )
For your reference:
Thanks, but it doesn't work. The table just says "We didn't find any data to show at this time" - the default message for when there is no data.
The app works fine when I put it into a PowerBI visual on my report... it's just editing and building the app where I can't see the data. The only time I get to work with the data is when I first create the app. If I close my session, then poof. No more data when editing.
A second, presumably unreleated problem is that a date column in the data source is not displaying at all - even when the other data columns are. I changed the data source from date to date/time and iot didn't fix it. My only solution is to create a duplicate column but store it as text, but then i cannot use Date Picker.
I understand the Power BI integration is in its infancy, but I am new to Power Apps so I might be missing somthing.
To continue to see the data in the app in subsequent session while in PowerApps studio, please go back into your Power BI report, select the PowerApps app on your report and then select Edit app from the "..." on the top right corner.
The data integration object depends on context only available within Power BI and cannot be loaded if the app is directly edited from PowerApps.
Thank you but I don't see an 'Edit App' option. there is an option to 'Edit' which opens the Power BI report for editing, not the PowerApps visual. I am missing something?
