Power app not showing excel dates difference of 16 hours.

Hi

I built a power app that is connected to an excel sheet.  The odd thing is that a date time field value in excel is showing up in the date/time field in the powerapp with a difference of 16 hours.  Does anyone know why this is? It’s very odd.

Re: Power app not showing excel dates difference of 16 hours.

@Mbruse
Usually any dates and times brought in from Excel are displayed in local time because they do not include any timezone information. But in your case offset is occurring. Perhaps the datetime is being converted to UTC for some strange reason.

Try this code to convert from UTC to local time. Replace MyDatetime with your own Excel column name.

DateAdd(ThisItem.MyDatetime, −TimeZoneOffset(ThisItem.MyDatetime), Minutes )

If that does not work you could also try to manually offset the time. Use either 16 or -16 hours depending on your requirements.

DateAdd(ThisItem.MyDatetime,16,Hours)

Re: Power app not showing excel dates difference of 16 hours.

Hi @Mbruse ,

Yes, it is because the Time Zone difference between two data source commonly.

The Time Zone of your PowerApps is based on your local time zone in default.

So, I guess Time Zone of your Office365 is not correct. The simplest way use '=Now()' in excel formula bar to see if the date time is your local time.

The workaround to the problem once and for all:

Log out every PC you have everywhere (Excel Online, OneDrive, etc.)
Log in into your office365 account
Click on Your Info
Then Edit country/region

In there you can change your location and the time zone.
