PowerApp as a custom app in Teams - problem with "Sign in to start using PowerApps"

Hi,

I followed this tutorial to create an app for Teams from my PowerApp: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/embed-app-teams

It has been configured only as a "personal" tab. After publishing and installing, it works fine from Teams within the browser, but when I try to open the App from Teams client, it prompts to sign in - "Sign in to start using PowerApps". After clicking the sign in button, it opens the following URL in the browser: https://web.powerapps.com/webplayer/popupproxy?tenantid=common

But nothing happens and the browser tab closes after a couple of seconds.

My content URL: https://web.powerapps.com/webplayer/iframeapp?source=iframe&appId=/providers/Microsoft.PowerApps/app...]

I figured out the suggested content URLs in the article don't work at all.

Has anyone figured out a way to fix this? Thanks!

Hi @xmihu ,

Do you mean that you can not open PowerApps app from Teams client?

Please clean your browser's cache and log out Teams client and log in again.

Here's a similar issue for your reference:

If the problem still exists, Please ask for help here:

This is not what I mean. The PowerApp itself opens fine even in Teams client when added as a tab.

However in order to have it as a Teams app and pin on the left menu bar I created an app in AppStudio following the article linked in my original post. The app works nicely in Teams web app, but it won't sign in Teams client.

Screenshot attached.

Hi,

I have the exact same issue. What do you mean by "change source in the URL"?

Your "source" parameter in content URL of the app should be set to 'teamstab', not 'iframe', e.g.

https://web.powerapps.com/webplayer/iframeapp?source=teamstab&appId=/providers/Microsoft.PowerApps/apps/[AppId]
