PowerApp screen with timer is freezing

Dear

I have a splash screen with a Timer that has a duration of 200 milliseconds and on the OnTimerEnd event i Navigate to my Mainscreen. It has occured quite a few times now that users get stuck at this screen, on mobile devices as well as on desktops, on first use as well as closing powerApps and restarting it. I have changed the duration to 1500 milliseconds but this had also occured with this duration.

I am setting 1 variable in this OnTimerEnd event and performing 1 simple If check, maybe that is interferring ?

Other than that I have no clue for what is causing this, is there anyone that can suggest me anything to look for ?

Any chance the user is clicking on the timer causing it to pause?

Good thinking there but no, i have seen it freeze while no one clicked or touched their smartphones screen, i wille make the timer control the smallest possible and in a corner since i find it a better idea after your suggestion 😁 I will see if it never freezes or if it still does, thank you !

Try setting the Visible to False. 🙂 No reason to even show it I am guessing. 🙂

It is already set to false, it is a splash screen with the company logo so i would not see why make it visible neither 😁

You're not being ignored. 've seen the same issue you have.

Here's my code.

• User selects an option from a Dropdown
  • OnChange of dropdown:
    • UpdateContext({varSpinner: true})
    • UpdateContext({varTimer: true})
• Start Property of Timer is set to varTimer
  • Timer runs for 2.5 seconds
• Stop Property of Timer is set to UpdateContext{(varSpinner: false})

The issue:

• When user selects an item from the Dropdown, "ants march" across the top of the screen but the timer DOES NOT start OnChange.
• It starts when the "ants" are done.
• This causes the timer to sometimes not run at all, but other times to start late.

How does this compare to the issue you are having?

@dimi, it seems you will need to reconfigure when the timer starts/autostarts to match your expectation.
