PowerApps Camera Image Resolution - Size Limit

I have a scenario where I am trying to use the PowerApps Mobile Camera to take photos of documents. It seems that when saving the capture image to OneDrive / Excel, the image size / resolution is very small, and the quality of the captured documents won't suffice. Is there any ability to increase the resolution of the captured images?

Hi Ccaravotas,

What’s the image size saved on your OneDrive?
I test this issue on my side, I save two pictures to OneDrive, one is 30KB, and another one is 40KB.
I am using iPhone(10.2.1). What’s your phone and the version?

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Hi Mabel.

I'm using an Iphone IOS (latest version). It seems like the image files are always at a resolution of 640 x 480 , averaging around 50kb - 65kb in size. The Iphone camera is obviously capable of alot higher resolutions. Limiting to a resolution of 640 x 480 is limitng our ability to use Power Apps for certain use cases that require higher qualitycaptured images.

Thanks

Costa

Agreed. I have posted a new idea here:

Maybe if we get enough votes will get Microsofts attention to do something about it?

Kind regards,

Kevin

Can someone please state the size limit of images stored in a collection ?

Trying to understand exactly at what point the collections max out for images.

Thank you!

We are developing a similar app to capture images of documents and have run into the same image resolution limitations.  Curious if any has been able to figure out how to increase the image size/resolution since this was first posted two years ago.
