PowerApps Dropdown value is unable to be updated (using SharePoint List as Data source)

My PowerApps connect to SharePoint List  for using its data as dropdown. Normally, when the data in SharePoint List is updated, the dropdown in PowerApps is automatically refreshed.

But today, I update the data in the SharePoint List, the dropdown in PowerApps is not updated as it used to be, I also refreshed SharePoint's data in PowerApps as well but the value is still not updated. Please suggest

You First Save and Publish the app and try Hope it will work for you,

But if you using the App in Edit Mode and checking for refresh, then you can try to refresh the manually like below -

Sure, I did as your suggestion but the dropdown value still not be updated.


I'm sure this problem is from PowerApps or SharePoint List. I notices that  New items added in SharePoint today are always has the symbol in red circle.

YOu can use the refresh function once your Update was Done.

On Update Button, On Select you can use below Code.

Based on the issue that you mentioned, do you want to make the Dropdown selected to display the corresponding item?

Could you please share a bit more about the scenario:

  1. Do you update the SP list within itself rather than the PowerApps?
  2. How you configure the Dropdown, is it in a form?
  3. How you set the Items and Default property of the Dropdown?

I have an EditForm to edit/save data.

Set the Items property of the Dropdown as below:




Set the Default property of the Dropdown as below:




Set the Update property of the data card as below:




The above configuration will make the Dropdown normally work if there is no other wrong. But if your issue is still, I think there may something wrong with the following issues:

  1. Connection crash
  2. Server
  3. Browser cache
  4. Account authentication

If it is the server crash, you should contact our support team. However, I don't think this is the key to your issue. So as the third point, you could change a browser and clear the cache to check if this works.

I want to clarify that it could be the connection crash or the account authentication.

The connection brings the data from the data source to PowerApps, if you have refreshed the SP list and nothing changes, it will be the connection issue I think.

Please try to remove the connection firstly which is important. And then add this connection again to see if the Dropdown works.

And for the account authentication, could you please log out and log back in.
