PowerApps - Launch function no longer working in PowerApp

We have a PowerApp that has a gallery for displaying records from a SharePoint list.

The flow creates a PDF file on SharePoint (same tenant, domain etc) and updates a field for the record called LabelPath, when that value is available in the list, the Show Label button is visible, and when clicked, is supposed to open the pdf file...

several months ago (up to March), this was working fine - now the project has restarted, and the only thing not working is the Launch() function on the Show label button in the gallery control:

PowerApps Launch()_2.PNG

PowerApps Launch()_1.PNG

in the top picture, you can see the Launch command in the OnSelect event of the button, and for debugging, I've added a label showing the path to the file.

The launch command is:

Launch(Text(First(ThisItem.Boxes).LabelPath))

when we execute this in the studio, no error is returned...

so what has changed, what can we do to fix this?

Re: PowerApps - Launch function no longer working in PowerApp

HI @livingstonep ,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Do you mean that the Launch function could not work in your app any more?

Could you please share a bit more about the "Boxes" column in your SP List?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Based on the LabelPath screenshot that you provided, I think there is something wrong with it.

There is a "//" symbol between the ebayit folder and Documents folder, instead, you should use "/". Please consider modify your formula as below:

Set the OnSelect property of the "Show Label" button to following:

Launch(
        Substitute(
                     First(ThisItem.Boxes).LabelPath,
                     "//",
                     "/"
        )
)

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

In addition, please also make sure the DisplayMode proeprty of the "Show Label" button has been set to following:

DisplayMode.Edit

rather than DisplayMode.View.

If the issue still exists, please consider re-store your app to previous version, then try your app again, check if the issue is fixed.

Restore app to previous version
