@timl @Anonymous that summary is correct; reading data from SharePoint and connecting to any standard connector remains included in the PowerApps licenses for Office 365; there is no change here.
@andygjones users of apps that have custom connectors will require the P1 license. The main blog post added a clarifying comment on this in December, quoted here (see first bullet specifically):
December 2018 Update
In response to questions we've received, here are some additional clarifications:
- Although makers do not require a specific license to create PowerApps and Flows that use custom or premium connectors, users of Apps and Flows that are based on custom or premium connectors require Plan 1 or Plan 2 licenses.
- Office 365 users and makers do not require elevated licensing to access Office data from the Graph through Flow. We have key scenarios for Graph exposed to Flow and PowerApps users through our standard Graph connectors. These are available to all Office 365 users. Advanced developers who want to connect to Graph via a raw HTTP call have been able to do so since September 2017 with the premium HTTP with Azure AD connector. This has been a premium connector since its release and we have no plans to change this requirement at this time.
- Office 365 users and makers do not require any additional licensing to access on premises data from Power BI through the on premises data gateway; additional licensing is only required for users using PowerApps and Flow against on premises data.
- Office 365-licensed users and makers do not require any additional licensing to use HTTP custom actions inside the SharePoint connector.
@PaulD1 some clarifying content in the snippet above. Using the HTTP action card offered by the SharePoint connector (see screenshot) does not require the P1 license as it's within SharePoint.
You're right that using the HTTP action card to access other data sources like Cognitive Services will require P1 going forward, however the spirit of this move is not to monetize gaps in functionality that should be included in Office. Any gaps in the current connectors, especially in Office 365 data sources, should be resolved in the connectors themselves so that the broadest possible set of users can take advantage of them without having to use the more advanced HTTP triggers. This is part of why there is a long extension to current users of these features to make sure we can properly close gaps.
@Anonymous E3 plans include "PowerApps for Office 365" capabilities, outlined in the first column of our pricing page here: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/ . The intent of this plan to be able to customize and extend Office 365. Users who want to take advantage of premium capabilities (e.g., the custom connectors or on-prem gateways discussed here) will need a P1 or higher plan.

In the bustling world of technology, two dynamic leaders, Geetha Sivasailam and Ben McMann, have been at the forefront, steering the ship of the Dallas Fort Worth Power Platform User Group since its inception in February 2019. As Practice Lead (Power Platform | Fusion Dev) at Lantern, Geetha brings a wealth of consulting experience, while Ben, a key member of the Studio Leadership team at Lantern, specializes in crafting strategies that leverage Microsoft digital technologies to transform business models. Empowering Through Community Leadership Geetha and Ben's journey as user group leaders began with a simple yet powerful goal: to create a space where individuals across the DFW area could connect, grow their skills, and add value to their businesses through the Power Platform. The platform, known for its versatility, allows users to achieve more with less code and foster creativity. This Week: All About Subscriptions & Notifications Subscribing to a CategorySubscribing to a TopicSubscribing to a LabelBookmarksManaging & Viewing your Subscriptions & BookmarksA Note on Following Friends on Mobile Subscriptions ensure that you receive automated messages about the most recent posts and replies. There are multiple ways you can subscribe to content and boards in the community! (Please note: if you have created an AAD (Azure Active Directory) account you won't be able to receive e-mail notifications.) Subscribing to a Category When you're looking at the entire category, select from the Options drop down and choose Subscribe. You can then choose to Subscribe to all of the boards or select only the boards you want to receive notifications. When you're satisfied with your choices, click Save. Subscribing to a Topic You can also subscribe to a single topic by clicking Subscribe from the Options drop down menu, while you are viewing the topic or in the General board overview, respectively. Subscribing to a Label You can find the labels at the bottom left of a post.From a particular post with a label, click on the label to filter by that label. This opens a window containing a list of posts with the label you have selected. Click Subscribe. Note: You can only subscribe to a label at the board level. If you subscribe to a label named 'Copilot' at board #1, it will not automatically subscribe you to an identically named label at board #2. You will have to subscribe twice, once at each board. Bookmarks Just like you can subscribe to topics and categories, you can also bookmark topics and boards from the same menus! Simply go to the Topic Options drop down menu to bookmark a topic or the Options drop down to bookmark a board. The difference between subscribing and bookmarking is that subscriptions provide you with notifications, whereas bookmarks provide you a static way of easily accessing your favorite boards from the My subscriptions area. Managing & Viewing Your Subscriptions & Bookmarks To manage your subscriptions, click on your avatar and select My subscriptions from the drop-down menu. From the Subscriptions & Notifications tab, you can manage your subscriptions, including your e-mail subscription options, your bookmarks, your notification settings, and your email notification format. You can see a list of all your subscriptions and bookmarks and choose which ones to delete, either individually or in bulk, by checking multiple boxes. A Note on Following Friends on Mobile Adding someone as a friend or selecting Follow in the mobile view does not allow you to subscribe to their activity feed. You will merely be able to see your friends’ biography, other personal information, or online status, and send messages more quickly by choosing who to send the message to from a list, as opposed to having to search by username.
