PowerApps Prerequisits

Hi Community,

Right now I dive right into PowerApps and therefore I want to buy a new Laptop (for using PowerApps Studios). On the Homepage it is written that all Windows 8.1 and higher will work well. Now I heard from a friend that certain Wndows version do not work.

Is there anyone who could tell me which versions of windows support and which do not support PowerApps?

Which hardware prerequisits should I consider?

Thank you some much in advance

From what I understand, the desktop version is going away. It appears that future PA development will be browser-based.

Because PowerApps is a browser-based IDE (integrated development environment), its pretty much OS-agnostic. I develop apps using Ubuntu 16.04 + Firefox and Windows 8.1 + Chrome without issue. The only problem I know of is using Internet Explorer. Stay away from that browser and it shouldn't matter which OS you use.

Hi ericonline

Perhaps you have already seen this, but have a look at this link, a page listing system requirements:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/limits-and-config#supported-platforms-f...

Thank for the quick reply.

I understood that there are 2 options. First there is the development of PowerApps Studios for Web, which you described?! and Second there is the PowerApps Studio for Windows which runs on the system like a usual Windows program without using a browser. The latter is the one I prefer and therefore, I'm asking once more if there are limits for certain Windows Versions on which PA Studios works and which it does not work?

I tried first the PowerApps for Windows. It is true they appear in the future. It is recommendable to use the web based solution straight away.
