Anyone knows if exists a connector to an AX 2012 R3 on premise instance?
In case not it's possible to use a a gateway to connect to my local AX instance or SQL Database?
After some researching, Dynamic AX 2012 R3 on premise is not listed as an available connection in PowerApps. See all the Connections list for Microsoft PowerApps:
You could post this requirement in the PowerApps Ideas forum, so it might be considered for future releases.
Local SQL database could be connected to PowerApps using gateways. For more information, please refer to:
And it's possible to expose an AX 2012 webservice on my local instance and call from a powerapps.
Should I follow this?
I'm not a developer so I don't know exactly if this is I'm looking for.
This question is a bit old, however, I thought I would jump in.
You can use a On Premise Gateway to hook into your AX SQL Server. Keep in mind that you won't want to write directly to AX tables as you will miss the functionality contained in the table methods (Insert, Update, Delete). You would want to architect another solution for the AX side to allow Power Apps to write into AX.
There is a third party solution that builds Power Apps (and Flows) connectors for Dynamics AX 2012/2009. The connector reuses all AX business logic and data. It's defined and published from AX.
