PowerApps in Teams - Make a duplicate app within the same team environment

I have posted this query before without much luck. I will better describe my issue.

I have App - A in a team environment. I want to make a duplicate and name it App - B.

Use case: I want to deploy App -A in Channel - A and App - B in Channel -B of the same Team.

Reason: Different apps for smaller teams within the same team as they are connected to different data sources.

Problem: Powerapps in Teams doesnot have 'Save as' functionality . We can export an app and then import it in a different team very easily. However, when I import the app to the same Teams environment it overwrites the existing app and doesnot create a copy.

Please help to solve this.

Finally after some trial and error I have found a fix for this.

Please upvote this idea as there is no 'Save As' feature currently in PowerApps for Teams.

Workaround solution:

1. Export the App

2. Unzip the exported file.

3. Edit each of the xml files:

In each of the above 3 xml files change the text schema name to a new name.

Within the CanvasApps folder update the same name for both Uri and msapp files

4. Zip the file and import. A new app will be created.

Important: You only need to do this, if your requirement is to create a duplicate within the same Teams environment. Simple export/import works if you want to do this in a different Teams environment.

Use case: Create multiple apps for different channels within the same Teams environment.

@ClipperSun ,

Yes, PowerApps in Teams does not have "Save as" functionality.

Have you though to  suggest idea to PowerApps dev team. If your request is supported by many users, I'm sure that it will be prioritized.

I have suggested an idea. Do you have any solution for using export/import to the same Team enviroment. Currently it overwrites the same app, instead of creating a duplicate copy. Renaming does not work. Is there any changes we can do to the xml files to create a copy.
