PowerApps not functioning

Hi,

I wanted to continue working on my PowerApps solution, but today it does not function properly. This in EDIT mode while I am developing. The modal windows are shown by default because the OnVisible where I set my variable for modal window is not functioning. Navigation doesn't work, the fields are all over the place because the relative positioning is no longer working, there is connect to data source on the form even though the data source has been set. Everything was working last night. It all started happening today. Combo boxes DisplayField property is not read and defaults to ID values.

It seems that PowerApps doesn't read properly the files and I need to redo variables, formulas, DisplayFields etc. Has there been update to PowerApps which has caused all these issues? In short, PowerApps is not working at the moment.

Could you please help?!

Very thankful for this thread and for your fix - I just had a major panic my work for the last few months was completely broken. Reverting to version 3.21022.27 works

😋Great, I was panic too, and perfectly show your feals... I hope a fix will be found in next days cause I don't want to work on an older version.

Seems like a global pandemic on PowerApps. Microsoft need to sort this out.

All my screens are distorted, different shapes and sizes.

Parent.Width is not even recognised today!

Microsoft please do something

Hi,

I am also battling today - On Select of certain controls, my app screen just disappears in its entirety - I get the dreaded grey screen of death - and the app seems to hang.  I should've come here hours ago I suppose to check if there was a Microsoft issue.

Anyway, it seems I normally work in make.powerapps.com and you can't find "Account" in there. So I had to go into create.powerapps.com to find the Account link. I can change from 3.21023.26 back to 3.21022.27 , but then I can only see my default environment, not the environment which contains my app. When I go back to make.powerapps.com, I can get to my other environments, but it reverts back to the new version again.

Any ideas?

🤣

Honestly I've lost a lot of respect for Microsoft in the past 6 - 12 months... purely because of issues like this that I've faced. or the fact that if you don't want to use a sharepoint list then you have to pay for an azureDB or pay almost as much to have premium features

Issues with searching for flows in power automate (that search bar is abysmal if you try and type too fast, or if you want to delete what you have in there and start typing i see what I've typed, and then 1 second later goes back to   what was previously searched minus a letter)

and don't get me started with Teams...I know lets make presenter view a new preview feature mandatory and have no way to turn it off. which is un-usable if you have only a laptop screen

Hi JPi

Don't be too hard on them. What they have delivered so far is absolutely incredible. This whole Power Platform concept is just beyond amazing. Microsoft have been way beyond visionary, and the team is pushing really hard to continue delivering even more amazing stuff. So yes - things go wrong occasionally - and it can drive you crazy and waste HOURS of time - but at the end of the day I can't live without it or them.

And I am not paid by them in case you were wondering 😁 - this is 100% heartfelt sentiment from a minion user.

Hang in there - they will fix it - they always do.

Yeah what they are trying to achieve is amazing, but they are failing on lots of small things which is overshadowing their successes.

I went down the path of creating flows as functions rather than having flows that would be running for days or weeks at a time and would have multiple branches etc. My reasoning for this was purely because of a few little issues that caused flows to break or not function properly. I had seen post after post of a microsoft support tech saying just re-create the flow from scratch, also telling you not to copy anything from your existing flow in case that pulls in anything that is broken (bearing in mind some people had huge flows that had taken them days to create)

Arguably I shouldn't be using an infantile language to develop projects and should wait a year or two until it's more rounded and a fuller product.

What sort of apps are you creating with it out of curiosity? With very basic apps it works wonders, but any time I want to do something more complex I feel that id be better suited creating something in .Net

A prime example of this is my first project was fairly simple and used a SharePoint list and I didn't have too many issues bar lack of experience with the language and update issues like we have faced today.

Then I moved onto a sql database for my second project because I couldn't find a way to granularly protect the data in the SharePoint list.

I was asked to add attachments to the second sql project to which I thought, sure no problem that's something you can do in any language (ive also used attachments in the SharePoint list) but unless you are using a sharepoint list you can't add attachments (easily) I have since found a solution for this which can only be described as hacky at best.

You have to add an image per attachment to your app and then you need to assign the value of the attachments to the image so you can get the blob data from the image and then pass it to a flow to create the file from the blob. By this point we were way beyond powerapps selling point of being incredibly simple, I also view being able to attach a file to your app a "simple" task that should be created out of the box as a function.

Instead it took weeks of dedicated to powerapps users' time to come up with a solution... Shout out to Shane Young and powerapps911 for producing some top quality videos, without them and without his attachments video my project would of been dead in the water and sent to the bin.
