PowerApps to Sharepoint convert blob from pen and addmediacontrol to jpg (Camera control works)

Hi there,

Well i've search a lot before answering there. This is an issue which is strange for this app.

When you try to post an image from a camera on sharepoint (list or library), there is no matter.

You can do it, by a databinaryto64 flow, and it works. Nice.

But if you have a "addmediacontrol" or a "pen" control, or if you save your data on the phone, there you have an issue.

Because it turns it into a blob file. What is surprising is that you can post it to an sql a get it back to a jpg. Paul Cumsee and Shane Young have worked well on it and it does work (you can see their video on youtube) but you can't do it to Sharepoint?

So, it doesn't work between two Microsoft products? Sorry for this but this is strange.

So you have to do something like a converter between blob to jpg.

Thanks for reading, and answering ^^

Re: PowerApps to Sharepoint convert blob from pen and addmediacontrol to jpg (Camera control works)

Hi @AlexisHA,

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, the Camera control and the Add Picture control handles image differently. See my response in this thread

"

if here you are using the Camera control, which just saves the image data into the URL, and we could take use of the URL to convert the image into the actual image file, just as this example shared, there is fucntion available under Microsoft Flow to convert the image into the actual image file, and then send it through the Email Action,

If you are using the Add Picture control, the way to get the image file is a little different, as this control stores the image uploaded internally, the .image property only gets the internal relative path for the image, there is no way to use the property directly to get the actual image file.

we need to take use of the custom connector, to get the actual data, please review this thread for the details about how to work with that.

Besides, we have an idea submitted on this topic, to suggest the Product team to make this a better User experience:

A picture format from add picture control to be readable in an email

Michael

Re: PowerApps to Sharepoint convert blob from pen and addmediacontrol to jpg (Camera control works)

Thanks for asking.

I understand what you wrote, and it seems to work for Camera control and AddMedia control. I'll test this soon, maybe i'm just a fool^^ but i really don't understand why Sharepoint can't call blob images. There is not a lot of documentation about blob images and sharepoint on the web, and i have to add the translation point to my case since i'm a french user ^^. Anyway i'll test your solution, and i want to thank you again for your fast answer!

Best regards
