If I open the app in a browser and click the sharepoint list attachment, it will start downloading and end up in the download folder by default.
However, if I add this app to Microsoft Team's tab and click the attachment, nothing will show up, but the file will still be downloaded with random file name.
I was wondering if there are anyways to make a sharePoint list attachment item downloaded from Teams tab behave the same as if it is downloaded from chrome.
Hi @agent3154 ,
Do you want to download attachments from an embedded PowerApps app as same as if it is downloaded from Chrome?
Further, do you open your Teams using MS Teams Client app or MS Teams for web?
I have made a test (within my Chrome, using MS Teams for web), and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The attachment file would be downloaded in the default downloaded folder (same as that within Chrome).
Please take a try to remove the embedded canvas app from your Teams Tab, and then re-add it again, check if the issue is solved.
Best regards,
Hi, @v-xida-msft ,
I was referring to Microsoft Teams client for Mac. When the user click on attachements, nothing happens, but the files were downloaded to Downloads folder, and random strings were appended to the file name.
I know that downloading attachements of a sharepoint list item work differently in different browser, but at least the user would notified that attachement has been downloaded/opened.
However, it is not the case if the powerapp tab within Teams (for mac). I want the user to be notified when the attachement has been downloaded. Is there a workaround for this? ( I check the attachement field property in powerapps, there's no Onselect properity)
Has anyone managed to fix this? I have the same issue on windows client for teams
Same issue with desktop teams app on windows 10. Click the attachment and nothing happens, in the background it actually downloads the file to downloads folder. Teams client Bug. Works fine from browser.
Has anyone been able to fix this?
I have the same issue and would love a fix so my users can open list attachments from their Teams channel.
Thanks!
I have the same problem with attachments in Teams. Download is in the background without any notifications on the client side. Please fix this.
