Powerapps Attachments Storage Location

Dear all,

I would like to know more about the attachments feature in Powerapps.

1. Where is the attachments stored - when we attach documents using attachments control in Powerapps?

2. Can we access those documents in a common location?

3. Are back-ups taken for these attachments?

Kindly advise.

Re: Powerapps Attachments Storage Location

Where the attachments are stored is dependent on the data source you are using. You can store attachments locally in a collection, or if you are using a SharePoint data source you can store them in a list item or a document library, or if using OneDrive in your OneDrive.  There is no default storage location for attachments.  The attachments control simply provides a way to get them into the program.  You then need to store them somewhere.

Similarly your other questions are all dependent on the data source you are using.

This Blog describes how to work with the attachments control when connected to a SharePoint list.

Re: Powerapps Attachments Storage Location

Hi @cyberco01 ,

Could you describe more clearly about "attachments feature"?

If you means that upload file to update data source's data, the files are stored in the data source that the app is connected with. You could check them in the data source.

If you means that upload file to collection, it is saved as temporary data source. And is stored in the format of binary.

You could check it in the collection.

They all do not have back-ups.

Mostly, we use Attachments control to upload file to SharePoint list. Here's a doc about it for your reference:
