Powerapps Copilot Preview Functionality

I've been testing and playing around with the Copilot preview and i've been hitting a curious wall I'm hoping for additional insight on if anyone else has any. At the moment I'm just not sure if its by design, or some sort of error that can be/will be fixed, or if there's an inherent limitation to the functionality currently built into the preview.  When I connect the Copilot component within the app to a sharepoint list or excel file, regardless of how many hundreds of rows or records each list/table has, or the fields added to the component the limit to how many rows Copilot can read is locked at 18.   Occationally it'll go to 19, or 17 but never for very long and always defaults back to just 18 rows per table.

Does anyone have any useful information on why that is, and if there is planned fix?

Is there any update on this?

None that I've heard.

Id also love to find out if anyone Isn't experiencing the same issue as well. Everyone I've communicated with within the preview seem to all have the same issue. So it would be interesting to hear if someone wasn't, and that they had the full functionality of the embeded copilot working just fine for them.  At the moment the situation means that the embeded copilot isn't a functional option to do anything with for testing until its fixed.

A bit of an update. I've logged in this morning after a few days away from checking on updated functionality and i've discovered the layout has changed. Additionally the suggested questions are gone entirely which im ok with since they weren't all that applicable to the data I was using. But now the widget no longer reads any of my rows, not 18, or a single 1.  This is without me making any changes to the app or data since the last update.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue I am, and have you made more progress?

Hello, currently i just added copilot to my powerapp. The powerapp does not have to many items but copilot is working!

It also has the suggested questions!

Make sure you added some fields:

Hope this helps!

I was playing around with this, and I´ve tried to add data with 500 rows, that did not work. It was only able to work with 50 rows.

Then I started to ask questions, but some of them where incorrect, so that´s part of training the data.  Since it´s a preview maybe its limited.

I'm still getting slightly different results. So I tried it on a smaller table as you suggested with 13 rows.  It seemed to be successful in showsing those 13, minus the suggested questions which I still don't have anymore, i'll screenshot below.  But my original table with over 500+ rows no longer shows any results were before it showed the same 17 rows for the last few weeks.  I tried hooking up another large sharepoint list to a new widget window and no results on that one either as if the data didn't exist. This is also a table that worked previously, and one i currently use in production on another app.   It seems to only function as you described on small tables right now.

However instead of just excluding a portion (Majority) of the rows on the large tables and capping the results at 17-22 rows it just doesn't show any rows at all on those tables anymore.

Aside from the same issues everyone else is reporting about using datasets more than ~20 rows, I have some basic excel spreadsheet tables with minimal data in the same SharePoint site. One sheet "works" with Copilot (you can ask questions, correct anwsers sometimes), the others doesn't work at all. I've tried reducing the data and removing columns, and still can't get Copilot to even recognize the dataset in one of the sheets.

Look I get that this is a preview feature, but we've been talking about the same issues for a couple months now. Power Apps Copilot so far doesn't reliably work on the simpliest of datasets. It makes me wonder how Copilot testing is going across the rest of the Microsoft technologies it's being folded into...

I do wish there was more communication as opposed to the dead air we get now.   The only measure of progress I have is comparing what I get, to what gets reported here by you fine folks who for the most part have the same questions I do.  So it's difficult to determine if the current status is by design due to the development cycle, or some other easily correctable problem just a few groups are experiencing.

Thats why I'll keep reporting the results i get here for everyone else to see and comment on. Hopefully a lot of you do so as well. So with each new change we can maybe collect a consensus that its happening to all of us, and not just something each of us is doing wrong.

Update: I walked away for about a week to work on other projects and when I returned this morning the previous Copilot widgets i had been using that had tables with 500+ data sets now no longer show only 18 records.

BUT Instead there is now an error dialog box that advises the table used contains to many rows and wont function because of it. Or in so many words. I'll post a picture below.

This seems like actual steps were taken to disable the use of larger data sets. So im not sure if that means these are temporary measures, or updated specifications and what we can expect for embedded copilot widgets in Power apps moving forward. If anyone else is experiencing this, or something different. Or if you know what's going on please let me know.

Thanks!
