Powerapps Submit button not working for some users

Please help - im at a lost end!

Ill admit its only my second power app creation giving me amateur status but this one really mind boggles!

I've created a power app that was been working fine within the business for months, ive recently made a few changes (added more sharepoint drop down options via combo boxes etc). Changes made, SP permissions updated to 'everyone except external' and tested the drop downs and changes - all working fine .However now the business cannot submit? The submit button has stopped working... for them. It works for myself and handful of others who are owners of the SP.  (forumla: onselect: SubmitForm(Form1); ).

So this leads me to believe its a SP access issue? Yet their access seems correct, no problems using the app or accessibility and could submit a week ago - what has changed?

Heres the confusing part, I removed one of the SP owners completely from the APP and the SP site so he had the same permissions as the rest of the business, and he could still submit?

Other points to note:

 - Everyone in the business has power apps licenses to use and access

- 1 week prior everyone could access & submit fine

- SP site permissions set to 'Everyone except external users' for all SP lists associated

- Tried updating SP site permissions from site visitors to site members

- No errors or warnings showing on app checker

- Refreshed all data links

- Restored the app back two previous dates (prior to any changes) but still not resolved the issues

Can anyone PLEASE assist?

@cmeigh, I'm making the assumption that the same people have the problem every time and it's not that they can save one time, but not the next.

If that's the case, is it possible for you to work with one of them to go into the Power Apps Studio, open a Monitor session and go through the submission process? You should be able to get some good information from (what I'm assuming will be) an error response.

Also, I'm not sure how you're submitting the data to SharePoint, but do you have any error-checking after the user submits? If not, you might consider that. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-errors

Thank you for your help on this, thats super helpful as i wasn't aware you could run monitor sessions.

I've ran a monitoring session on the app and it came up with an error when trying to submit. - Forbidden screenshot below

However on the SP permissions it shows as able to contribute? Any suggestions? Is it worth removing all permissions and re-adding?

I'm not a big SP user, but you might try either adding "Everybody but External" back to the Members group, or explicitly grant those permissions. Sorry I can't help more on that. Maybe someone else can.

Hi cmeigh,

Did you manage to resolve this? We have the same issue in our tenant where some selected users are not able to submit even though they have 'contribute' access to the underlying SharePoint list.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Unfortunately not.
Currently still uusing a work-around granting individual users access on both the sharepoint site (Owner status as member status still restricts) & also granting individual access to the Power app - both of these combined seem to be working so far.

Its still unclear what changed to prevent 'All user' access. We removed all access, links etc and reset them but it didnt resolve. And creating a new tool wasn't an option as 1) it's a complicated set up, 2) it is well embedded in the business months on...

Wishing you luck, do share if you find a solution!

Thanks

Our app is used by 200 users so adding individual users is off the table. I'm trying to record a monitor session with someone facing this and then will probably work on the issue.

Thank you for your response and I'll definitely share here if I find a solution.

Just encountered this same issue.  I've started to use the single user permissions work-around, too.  Does anyone have an update on this?
