Powerapps and Excel doubts

Hi All,

I have few doubts-

1. I have data in house- What DB will be the easier- excel or sharepoint?

2. How can I insert data into pre-defined excel templates?

3. How to create new tabs in excel based on the form in powerapps?

Any help is appreciated

Re: Powerapps and Excel doubts

Hi @Tejasvi_munge ,

1)If your data is very large, I more suggest you use sharepoint list as your data source.

Since powerapps has delegation limit, only you use delegate functions, you could get right result.

Sharepoint is one of the delegate data source. Excel is not.

2)Firstly, you need to format your excel data to a table.

Then upload this excel file to one drive.

Connect your app with this excel table in one drive.

Then use formula to update excel table in your app.

The formula that you could use to update data:
Patch, Collect, Remove,....

Here're docs about these functions for your reference:

3)I'm afraid it's not supported in powerapps.

You could only use powerapps to update data in excel.

You could not create table, create tab, create filed, change field name in excel by using powerapps. (change the structure of the excel.)

Same as in sharepoint.
