Problem: PowerApp does not save values in on premises SharePoint column of type Person

I just started to explore possibilities with PowerApps and I hope this issue is not already known.

My problem occurs with saving new item in column of type Person and on-premises installation with Data Gateway. Everything looks great in PowerApp, Person field is correctly populated, data are selected and visible and all other columns are also saved correctly. Only Person column is missing after save in Sharepoint List.

Similar scenario works fine with Sharepoint online therefore I suspect that something must be wrong in Data Gateway. On Sharepoint server I found few suspicious messages where username is not transferred correctly. I can see missing \ and missing fist letter of the loginname. (0#.w...)

(in my case local Sharepoint is version 2013, on-premises data gateway is at version 16.0.4002.1211 and version of used client PowerApps is v. 2.0.574. SharePoint list locally works fine and even if I populate Person column locally in Sharepoint it is later visible in PowerApps )

Original error: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException:

I will appreciate any suggestion,  BR

Hi @v-micsh-msft,

It works now. I am not sure what exactly helped as I first updated client PowerApps on my iphonne now is at version 2.0.590. After only this update behaviour didn’t changed so I also reinstalled on-premises data gateway. In control panel it shows now version 14.16.6228.1. With those changes I can now open on client app Column of type “Person or Group” and chosen Person from client is saved back on SharePoint list.

Great work – continue with quick resolutions of open issues and PowerApps will shine in rapid implementations.

Regards.
