Hi,
I made an canvas app in PowerApps. I have used Excel file on OneDrive for Bussines as a source file for that app. I work in company which has three Office365 tenants, and when I try to share PowerApp with colleague from another tenant, there is a problem. Colleagues from another tenant are able to open the app, but they aren’t able to load content from excel’s source file. It shows app’s interface without excel content. App works fine on the tenant where I made it. All users have a Office365 Bussines Premium licenses. I tried to do this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app#share-with-guests, so I assigned PowerApps license, over Azure Active Directory, to user from another tenant. As I mentioned before, it’s showing app, but doesn’t display the content.
Did anybody have the same problem?
Best regards

Hi @WarrenBelz ,
I have made another app with a SharePoint list as a source file, but stil we have a problem. I went on site permissions and granted access to external user, then I went into Site Content section to approve request of external users. When I approve access request, external user still can not open a SharePoint list and content in PowerApps. This is the problem, cause if he would be able to open a SharePoint list, I think he would be able to open content in PowerApp also.
Shoudn't he get the notice on an email when request is approved? Cause he didn't.
On a first screenshot there is no external user's email, because I approved it earlier (got a success information). On the second screenshot there is message after approval (still can't to open).
Hi @Rados ,
Another MS Licensing issue with PowerApps - to share with external users, you either add them to your tenant or if they have an equivalent or greater licence level, they can use their login (we share with our major customer this way). Here is a good video on the matter from Todd Baginski.
Obviously you can share SharePoint externally, but PowerApps only in relation to the rules above, so if you have an edit/new form customized in PowerApps, an external user cannot use it without a licence as described.
An "old school" solution is to do a InfoPath form.

PowerApps license was assigned to external user in our tenant. I've posted this Todd's video earlier in this topic (used it as a solution for PowerApp sharing, and it works). SharePoint list's sharing is a problem. I've been noticed (as an administrator and owner of the SharePoint list) that the approval went successfully, but external user still is not able to view SharePoint list within a web browser (I think that is the reason why he can't open it in PowerApps either).
Hi @Rados ,
That is a little strange - I just did a test on this end and shared a list with my GMail account and opened in another browser.
It opened the list fine, but got this when I tried to open the edit screen (which was what I expected)
I then shared with an account from another tenant who has O365 (a family member) and all worked fine.

That's interesting. Did you just share that file, or did you make some changes in site permission section? When approval request is made, external user still gets on the screen "You need permission to access this site". I've granted permissions, but we have same situation. It doesn't make a sense.
Hi @Rados ,
Update on this - Laura Rogers has just released a new post on this. After reading and watching the video, I thought "that does not work - I have tried it". So I went to the site permissions, deleted the test account (my GMail account) and added it again and I can now use the Power App edit screen logged in with this account (note you have to set up a Microsoft account with the email address, but I had already done this).
Please give this a test and see if it works for you.
Hi @Rados ,
Just checking if you got the result you were looking for on this thread. Happy to help further if not.

Nothing so far. I just read this article. All share options and permissions are checked, and everything is like in this video and other videos I've seen.
I just made an app on another tenant, share that app with myself (as one external user), and still the same problem. I am able to open PowerApps, but I can't load a content (SharePoint's data). There is just the blank application. Also, tried to share app with a colleague from another country who has Office 365 Bussines Premium account on different tenant. That didn't work.
If I find a solution for this problem, I will notify you.
I'm very thankful for you trying to help!
No problems @Rados ,
One thought that might help. I needed to create a Microsoft account with my GMail address - it was free and has a different password (which I logged in with) to logging into GMail. I just tested it again in Edge (the new one) and could edit items with the PowerApps form.
