Problems with Patch and SharePoint Date Columns

Hi

I'm using Patch to update a SharePoint List that includes a few date columns. The patch function works fine if the columns already contain a date but if the columns are empty patch does not update the columns. I have tried adding a time value, saving the value into a datetime variable, formatting it in various different forms and none seem to work.

My current code is:

Set(vvOnDate,DialogOnlineDate.SelectedDate+Time(0,0,0));

Patch(MyData,DialogBox.Selected,{OnlineDate:vvOnDate});

Not sure what to try next.

Quick Update

I found a work around which was to not update the collection but to update the SharePoint list directly and then re-collect the collection.
