Reading from one datasource and writing to another on a single screen

Hi all,

I'm pulling fields from one datasource into a formviewer (displayform), and want to write the displayed values from that datasource to another datasource when the user clicks a button.

I tried adding an editform connected to the target datasource and a viewform connected to the source, but i'm having troubles getting the values from the view form to populate in the edit form.

Basically it's an event registration, so i'm displaying the details of the event, and if they click "Register" i'm wanting to write their registration info to another datasource.

Stuck.  TIA!

Re: Reading from one datasource and writing to another on a single screen

Hi @russrimm ,

Do you want to fill the Edit Form(binding with data source2) with the Display Form’s data( binding with data source1)?

I’m afraid that it’s not supported to use variables in display form directly.

I recommend you save the record in the display form as a collection and use the value in the edit form.

I’ve made a similar test, you could refer this:(test is the collection’s name, Title is a field name)

1)save the values in display form as a variable

ClearCollect(test,Gallery2.Selected)

2)set the field’s default:

Concat(test,Title&"")
