Refreshing a Power App form connector after making change to SharePoint List

I have a Power App form that writes to a SharePoint List. I have a required field in my SharePoint List that I changed to not be required. After making the change, I went into my Power App form and refreshed the connector to my SharePoint List, but that field, in my Power App form, is still requiring the field to have data.

How can I sync my Power App form with my SharePoint List?

@RandyHayes I removed it and added it back in, yet it still shows as required. Is there something I need to do after removing it and before adding it back in?

Confused!!

You said " I ended up deleting my data connector and adding it back in and saving my app and it seems to be working..."

But now you are saying - "I did try refreshing the data source and even removing the data sources and adding it back in, but it still wouldn't write the data in those 2 fields."

Are you referring to the actual data connector in the first statement??  That you should *never* have to do!!  That would be highly detrimental, especially if you had many apps that relied on that connector.

But there is no bug that I've ever encountered.  Changing the underlying datasource (for example a field to not be required any longer), usually means a little "dance" with the form and the datasource in the designer.  The refresh on the datasource is certainly needed (to have it even discover that there is a change), then you definitely need to remove the field from the form and add it back in for the Form to reinitialize that field.

@Greg27

You will need to remove that field from your form and then add it back in.

I hope this is helpful for you.

@RandyHayes I ended up deleting my data connector and adding it back in and saving my app and it seems to be working after removing the field from the form and adding it back in. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to your last post!

Yes, a refresh on the Datasource is also needed.  When you removed it and added it back in, it would have refreshed, but you can do that step all from the menu next to the datasource.

Gald it is all working for you now.

@RandyHayes I did try refreshing the data source and even removing the data sources and adding it back in, but it still wouldn't write the data in those 2 fields. The only thing that seemed to work was changing the data type. It seems to me that there is a bug in SharePoint or it lost its mind.

@RandyHayes Sorry, I misspoke. I deleted the Data Connector, not the Data Source. I accepted your previous post as I think that is all we should ever need to do, but even that seemed to not work in this situation. I had another issue with this same app and SharePoint List and even Microsoft, after 3 hours couldn't figure out why it was doing what it was doing. It ended up being a problem on the SharePoint side, but Microsoft never figured it out. I ended up doing something just short of deleting the list that made it work, but I will leave it up to some weird thing going on. Thanks for your help.
