Remember Username & Password checkbox

 Good evening,

anybody knows if it's possible to add a checkbox to the login page for remember the username & password?

Everytime I access to my App I have to write my username & password, it doesn't remember it.

Thank you,

Hi  @Biisorte ,

Yes, User() function can only return the EMail and DisplayName, but Office365Users.MyProfileV2() function can return all information stored in Office365, including Phone Number. Reference: Get my profile (V2) Returns

What you need to make sure is that the Account Table needs to store the information of every logged-in user, even if they have the same email address. Like this:

EmailIsRememberedDisplayNamePhone numberMAC addressPassword
Test@Domain.comTrueUser Name11111111100-14-22-01-23-45****
Test@Domain.comFalseUser Name2

22222222

00-14-22-01-23-46****
Test@Domain.comFalseUser Name33333333300-14-22-01-23-47****

Then check the IsRemembered status of each login user based on Phone Number or Display Name.

1.  Add Office365 User connection in app.

2.  App.OnStart:  Set(Var_LoginUser, LookUp('Account Table','Phone number'= Office365Users.MyProfileV2().mobilePhone))

3.  set Default of Email Textbox: If(Var_LoginUser.IsRemembered=true, Var_LoginUser.Email)

4.  Set Default of Password TextBox:  If(Var_LoginUser.IsRemembered=true, Var_LoginUser.Password)

Hope this helps.

Hi @Biisorte

Do you mean this login page? If so, there's no possibility to customise this with an additional checkbox unfortunately.

Hi @Biisorte ,

If you refer to the login screen in canvas app, I think you add an extra True/False column in the table that stores account data, named IsRemembered.

At App.OnStart, first to check the IsRemembered field value corresponding to the login user account record. If false, the user needs to enter the password, if true, the password should be pre-typed by modifying the Default property of password text box.

When clicking the login button, also patch the checkbox value to IsRemembered field to determine the status of the next login.

Hope this helps.

Hi v-siky-msft ,

thank you for your response but if I do that, I think everybody could access the App only knowing the username of another user who has the "IsRemembered" field filled with a "true" value.

Am I wrong?

Hi @Biisorte ,

No need to worry. Don't use entered UserName to find the account record.

User() function can get information of current login user, if you lookup the account record based on User() function, only that account record of the respective user will be targeted.

For Example:

Put Set(Var_LoginUser, LookUp('Account Table',Email= User().Email)) into App.OnStart, the variable store the acount record of current user with IsRemembered value to see if username and password of current user are remembered.

Then, set Default of UserName Textbox:

If(Var_LoginUser.IsRemembered=true, Var_LoginUser.UserName)

Set Default of Password TextBox:

If(Var_LoginUser.IsRemembered=true, Var_LoginUser.Password)

Please have a try to see if this works for you.

Thank you for your response v-siky-msft ,

the problem is that everybody use the same account, so we have the same email (we are few people)

There is any possibility to access and store some phone information from the App? Like the phone number, or the MAC address of the cell phone.

Thank you,
