Resetting a date field in a table, asking to be sure

In a CDS table of my app items can be tasks with or without a specific date. (Should be done on a specific date or  not, the field taskdate has a value or not)

If a record by someone has been added to be done on a specific date and on hindsight a user wants to make this task "dateless", I need to copy all data of this record to a new record without the date and delete the old one? Because powerapps cannot blank dates in a table? This is correct?

I'm not sure I find it's the same in CDS, but when 'resetting' a date in SharePoint you need to go to Settings and turn on Formula Level Error Management. Then, you can use Patch and Blank() to clear the date, eg

Patch( yourTable, LookUp( yourRecord ), { yourDateColumn: Blank() } )

Formula level error management is an option you can turn on in Dataverse for Teams.
