Row Level Security Power Apps

Hi - I have a question about Row Level Security in Power apps

I want to restrict the data that comes into the Power App - based on the logged on User, and the Directorate they sit in.

1) How can I do this on Entry, rather than filtering?

2) Is there an AD connector - to read AD groups?

3) Can I use Flow to talk to the database, and run store procedures to restrict the view?

Is there any advice/links anyone can provide me, as I am very stuck.

Please and thank you

Jese

Re: Row Level Security Power Apps

Hi @jesenavaranjan,

To restrict the data that comes into PowerApps, you will need to set the related permission setting from the data source side. To show different data for different login users within PowerApps, the only way to achieve this is to filter the data according to different login user.

So far On-premise ad is not one of the avaiable connectors in PowerApps. But for Azure AD, you could take use of the following function to get the group members in PowerApps:

AzureAD.GetGroupMembers("GroupId").value

This function would return a table of the available users within the same Azure AD group.

The formula above could be put into the items property of a dropdown, then you could take use of the Dropdown selected value to save the value needed.

For example, Dropdown.selected.value.

About how to return data to PowerApps from a flow:
