Save Data to SharePoint list

Hi, I need your Help!


I want to create a canteen ordering app.


I try to save the users menu choice into an SharePoint list.


So the app first of all has to check if the name is in the list or not,

if yes write the menu choice (variable) into the users row at the day which is defined in the “weekday” variable,

if not create a new row with the given and surname and save the menu choice into the column which equals weekday. 

The app should check this OnSelect of a button.



First try:

LookUp(CL_EMPL,Title=Surname, Title = Surname And LookUp(CL_EMPL,Forename=GivenName,Forename)=GivenName,
Patch(CL_EMPL, First(Filter(CL_EMPL, Title = Surname And Forename = GivenName)), {"Weekday": Button2.Text}),
Patch( CL_EMPL, Defaults( CL_EMPL ), { Title: Surname, ForeName = GivenName, {"Weekday": Button2.Text}))


There is an error in the curly braces. It seems that that PowerApps doesn't recognise the column name / header.

@Frederike198  there are definitely some syntax issues with your formula.

However, I'm not clear on your app or datasource, so I'll ask - where are Surname and GivenName coming from? Are these variables you've set?  

From your data source - you are referring to Title, Surname and GivenName.  What is the Title field containing? Is that the Surname?  And again, leading back to the last Surname a variable in your app?
