Saving dropdown selections to collection then patching

So I followed a video on You Tube on repeating rows and it was a huge help.  However I am taking it a step further and doing some filtering and using dropdowns instead of text inputs.  

When I use a text input the value that was typed in stays as expected.  However I need to use dropdowns to ensure only allowed values are selected.  So I have a dropdown for supplier and a dropdown for item.  Item dropdown is inside a gallery and filtered to the supplier selected in the supplier dropdown.  Thus only allowing for items associated to that supplier.  However when I select my item and then click the save button (to patch to the collection and add a new empty dropdown) my original selection is reset.  I can not figure out how to save the selected value.  

Below shows that i tried to add 5 sample requests.  Everytime I hit the "+" it adds a new row in the gallery but also resets the original selection.  I can go back after I press "+" and select the item i want and it will not reset but this is very ugly.

I got the patch statement to patch the correct number of items in the gallery, however it patches the same item over and over again.  

Here you See I have 3 different flavors selected

But only one item gets posted and it post 3 times.

Does your Gallery connect to the ItemSampleGalleryCollection within your app?

Do you want to patch the ItemSampleGalleryCollection back to your SP List (Sample Details)? Could you please show more details about the formula you used to patch the collection back to your SP List?

For your first question, I assume that the Gallery (repeating table) connect to the ItemSampleGalleryCollection, is it true? Please consider set the Default property of the Dropdown box within the Gallery to following:

ThisItem.ItemNomenclature

then when you click "+" icon to add a new empty record, the previous selected option within the Dropdown box would not be reset.

For your second question, I assume that you click the "Submit Request" button to patch the ItemSampleGalleryCollection back to your SP List, is it true?

On your side, please consider set the OnSelect property of the "Submit Request" button to following:

ForAll(
       RenameColumns(Filter(ItemSampleGalleryCollection, !IsBlank(ItemNomenclature)), "ItemNomenclature", "ItemNomenclature1"),
       Patch(
             'Sample Details List',

Note: Please make sure that you do not collect duplicate ItemNomenclature value within your ItemSampleGalleryCollection.

   Yes, It is the data source for the Gallery.  Then 'Item List' is the source for the drop down that is inside the gallery.

     I changed this based on your recommendation and it seems to work.  However when I press the "+" icon the item selected from the dropdown "moves" down.  Below you would think I made 4 selections as there is 4 dropdowns.  However I only made 3 selections (the bottom three).  However I selected Hibiscus 1st, Jalapeno 2nd, and Orange 3rd.  The very top dropdown is always set to the last item selected. When I hit submit request it does submit all 4 items.

This is my code for the "+" button:

I have also found that if I try to submit only one Item (i.e. I just select the item and do not hit "+" then nothing gets added to Sample Details in Sharepoint.  However If I make my selection and hit "+" then both items will be added.  So it seems I can not add just one sample.

Could you please share a bit more about the data structure of your 'Item List' data source you specify within your Dropdown box?

Have you taken a try to add a ComboBox control within your Gallery to achieve your needs instead of the Dropdown control?

Based on the Patch formula that you provided, I think there is something wrong with it, please modify it as below:

If the issue still exists, please consider initialize your ItemSampleGalleryCollection as below:

Set the OnVisible property of current screen to following (initialize your ItemSampleGalleryCollection within the OnVisible property of screen😞

Clear(ItemSampleGalleryCollection);
Collect(
        ItemSampleGalleryCollection,
        {
          RowIndex: CountRows(ItemSampleGalleryCollection) + 1,
          ItemNomenclature: Blank()
        }
)

Remove the Dropdown control from your Gallery, instead, add a ComboBox control in it. Set the Items property to your 'Item List'. Then set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the ComboBox in your Gallery to following:

   DisplayColumn: LookUp(ItemSampleGalleryCollection, RowIndex = ThisItem.RowIndex, ItemNomenclature)
}

Note: The DisplayColumn represents the column value (from your 'Item List') you used as display value within your ComboBox.

Set the OnSelect property of the "+" icon to following:

@v-xida-msft I decided against the dropdown as it was being a pain.  I went with a list box that is filtered by what supplier is selected.  I have tested this and it works just fine.  I can select 1 item, or 10 items and it works fine.  I've also went ahead and simplified my layout by using buttons and setting variables as they navigate from screen to screen through the screens.  

I have also gotten rid of the collection that I was adding those items to with the drop down as I couldn't figure it out.  I do not need the collection as I use the ForAll statement when patching the selections in the listbox.

This is what I used on my "Submit" Button:

Yeah, I agree with you, the ListBox control would be an available solution in your scenario. Have you taken a try with the ComboBox control rather than Dropdown control within your Gallery?
