Saving or Editing a Record in Share Point

Hello,

Quick question here:

I have my Share point list with all the fields that I need. I guess that the best method to create the app is from my Share Point lists, because it does everything for me. So I don't need to expend time trying to figure out the way to update records, etc etc.

 

But the galleries that PA build by doing this they are horrible and definitely not user friendly.

 

My question is?

 

If I place maybe 3 or 4 small edit forms all of them with the same property item = Browse Gallery1.selected and if I place 4 buttons "NEW", "EDIT", SAVE" and "CANCEL" and when I click i.e in "EDIT" all of my 3 or 4 galleries go into EDIT Mode, and if I save all of them Save the data.

 

Is this possible or should be a better / faster or easier way to do this?

Use below formula onSelect of the save button:

Patch(
   'SPLIST',
    Defaults('SPLIST'),
    If(Form1.Unsaved, Form1.Updates),
    If(Form2.Unsaved,Form2.Updates),
    If(Form3.Unsaved,Form3.Updates),
    If(Form4.Unsaved,Form4.Updates),
    If(Form5.Unsaved,Form5.Updates),
    If(Form7.Unsaved,Form7.Updates),
    If(Form8.Unsaved,Form8.Updates),
    If(Form9.Unsaved,Form9.Updates),
    If(Form11.Unsaved,Form11.Updates),
    If(Form10.Unsaved,Form10.Updates))

 

This way you can any number of forms / screens.

Hi @sajarac ,

 

Please ensure that in your lookup column of the list as name from the employee list so that you can see the name directly on the form.

Hi @sajarac ,

 

Few things I would like correct here:

  1. In PowerApps Gallery will not go on edit mode unless you change the structure of the gallery itself
  2. when we want to Edit, Add, Save the list items we need to deal with forms
  3. Yes, when we click on edit we can change the form / forms mode to edit but what is the item property u want to pass to all the forms? 

 I can help you better, If you can tell me your requirement bit elaborative

Hi there, thank you very much for your prompt response.

 

Well I have my gallery from my Sharepoint list, for the navigate I will go to the next screen gallery.selected.

 

There I have a Edit Form with the items for the gallery selected etc.

So after that I start adding datacards, but you know that those datacards are in columns and with a not flexible formatting. I mean making this pretty placing the fields in different spots etc.

 

For the edit, new , save etc I have followed a video to change everything in a single form.

 

But I would like to add 3 or 4 forms or flexible galleries where I can do the same using those bottoms.

 

Make sense?

Almost there only one thing is not clear, what is the issue you see to implement the below.

if you want to know only the possibility yes it is 100% possible as long as you map a gallery with an edit form properly.

That formula is to submit the form it always depends on how a form is a new form or an edit form populated with the selected items populated from the gallery.
