Sending a file at the start of every week in MS Teams

Hi everyone,
As we are in hybrid mode structure (post COVID), to know the work mode of employees  in my organization at the start of every week (Monday) an excel sheet is shared in Teams to fill the work mode for the week which looks like this:

So currently I am sharing this kind of file at the start of the week in my MS teams group with my colleagues (for record purpose), but is there a way we can automate the following process by using Microsoft Power Apps or Power Automate by integrating it in the MS Teams groups.
So what I am expecting is at the start of every week (for all 12 months) an automated excel sheet should be generated with all the names of the employees (for which it can refer to the list of employees in the group that I want this list to be shared along with the correct weekday dates for the current week) like the date for this weekday are: 17/07/23 to 21/07/23 and the next week it should update the dates and send the file in the teams group.

This is the group in which I want to share the excel sheet to enter the working mode for the week (so for names it can refer to the group, so instead of defining a list of employee's manually it should be automated so if a new employee joins in they can bed added to the next week list automatically using automation)
I have checked the Attendance Bot plugin but I want to check if it can be done using basic components in Power Apps and using flow. Do let me know on how to achieve the following.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

Please separate the date expressions in the Header with comma , so that they are treated as separate header names.

To upload the file to the Teams Channel , use the SharePoint create file action before that get the content of the Newly created Excel file. of the the file to the SharePoint Document Library in the /Shared Documents/General and post the message in teams channel.

Else you can create the file in SharePoint itself initially before creating it in OneDrive and post the message to it after the team members are added in excel.

Hope this completes the answer , please mark this reply as a solution.

Thanks @SanmeshG ,
For the quick response, (had missed the comma in the header section realized it later😅) for sharing the file in a Teams activity will try it out once and let you know about any help needed.

Hi @SanmeshG ,
Just wanted to know in Post message in Chat or group we have an option to post to existing Teams group or Teams channel, so can I use it to post it in the same group from which we entered the participants name (using the apply for each loop) and the other thing is I have created another folder inside one of Teams channel (in General folder created another folder named : Attendance)Created a folder inside the Teams Site (in general -> Attendance)Created a folder inside the Teams Site (in general -> Attendance)Is there a space between Shared DocumentsIs there a space between Shared Documents

I had one query:
If we opt for the Group option or the Channel option then how will the file available in the Channel (or Group) as we have uploaded the file in on of the SharePoint list site. Is the (Name) attribute provided in the post message in a chat or channel will navigate to the list?.

Hi @Sidhant_02  ,

For Channels that are created , there is SP Library created in SharePoint.

You have to check the Files section in Files section in your Teams Channel , wherever you upload the file the files/Folders would appear in the Channel Accordingly.

So create the File in the SP Document library and check it in Files tab in MS Teams Channel. (General/Files/Wiki are the tabs usually in channel)

Understood I navigated to the SP site (for the new team site created) as it was not shown in default list of sites so I had to manually put the site address and then the flow was working as expected.
Once again thanks @SanmeshG  for the quick response.

Thanks & Regards,
Sidhant .

Hi @Sidhant_02  ,

You need to upload it SP Documents library as I said and check it on the teams channel with the same name.

Hi @SanmeshG ,
One last question now the default time will be UTC and I did check if there in Indian Time zone but did not find any. So I was thinking of converting the utc time to IST by using an compose action like:
Expression: convertFromUTC(utcnow(),'Indian Standard Time')
Is it correct?, as I want the flow to be triggered at 9 am on every Monday so  is the below trigger configuration right (as I have tested it manually till now)

Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

IN time zone search for Kolkata/Chennai/New Delhi

Is rest ok (To run the flow once in a week on Monday at 9:15am)

Or should I just select Runs on: monday (as the frequency is set to 1)

Hi @SanmeshG ,
As per the recurrence activity it should trigger the flow after the start time is specified. Previously I just had mentioned the Start time (date was populated automatically i.e. 24-07-2023) and then I selected the respective time zone : Kolkata/Chennai/New Delhi, but the flow was not triggered.
The flow was not triggeredThe flow was not triggered

So then I specified the hours and the minutes which was: Hour - 9 (am) Minute: 45:

But still the flow was not triggered at the specified time, and I manually had to trigger the flow.

As shown in the above image it was triggered manually. Another minor issue that I have observed the serial number was beginning from 2 instead of 1 and the email field was not getting retrieved in the excel.

The variable was initialized to 0 but I am not sure how the extra +1 is getting saved. Could you just let me know what might be the cause.
