'Set Field' instead of 'Update Item'

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if there was an action similar to 'Set Field Value' in Flow? I'm building a workflow for a SharePoint list and would like to set field values of items in the list, however, the only action I see available is Update Item. To use this action I have to add the site URL, the list name, the item id and then the field. This is also kicking off the modify workflow again.

Hence I was wondering if there is something similar to a 'Set Field Value' action which currently exists in SharePoint Designer.

Hi darograel,

There is no such action in flow so far that could meet your requirement.

You could post this idea in the Flow Ideas forum, so it might be considered for future releases.

Hi @darogael

You can use the Patch function in PowerApps to change the value of any field of any item in your data source.

This will, however, probably trigger the on update workflow (or whatever it is called in SP) that you have in SharePoint.  This is the expected behaviour.

Documentation of the Patch function:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/function-patch/

Why is this marked as "Solved" when clearly it isn't - it's acknowledged as not possible to solve?
