Set the default value for a down down list where the data source is SharePoint.

This seems like such a simple issue, I have tried at least a half dozen solutions listed here and havent been able to get any of them to work.

I have a screen where my form is in new mode, I want to default a drop down list to the first option of the list. (Which is defined in SharePoint)

Hi @jetstreamnz ,

Some more info might be helpful.

Is your SharePoint list column an option/choice column?

What are the choices?

What solutions have you tried and what have been the errors/outcomes?

In New mode, the default property of each card in the form is used.  If you're using a Choice column, set the Default: property of the card (not the dropdown control) to

First(Choices(source.columnName))

Again, I'm making some assumptions here, so if this doesn't work you may want to add some more detail to help us figure out what and where it's going wrong.

Kind regards,

RT

Is your SharePoint list column an option/choice column?  Choice

What are the choices? (Column is call Stages)

Load Customer

Create Employee Logins

Create Customer Logins

What solutions have you tried and what have been the errors/outcomes?

I have tried a number of options, a few looked like your solution but with variations, wasnt getting errors as such just not the results required.

I have used you suggested solution and it works. I think some of the other solutions might now work for me, was probably my understanding of the order of things.

First(Choices('Direct Logins'.Stage))

So from the Stage Column located in Direct Logins, give me the First Choice!!!

Thanks a bunch for your quick reply and giving me the reboot I needed.
