Hi,

I was able to get the Deep Linking working from a hyperlink. It is brilliant!

This works great when linking from an email, for eample

If I use the app, and click the OnSelect in the BrowseGallery

It hangs on Getting Your Data

The OnSelect is set to Navigate(DetailScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

Does anyone know if I need another if statement in the OnSelect?

Nicely done for getting the deep linking from URL to work, it is a very handy feature.

I am not sure about your exact requirements, but there shouldn't be need to use deep linking or URL parameters on the onselect while you are in the App already. The param function is only used in the URL that the App is launched with, so once you are in the App, you can use other ways to navigate to the record. The Form control needs to know when record it is working with and the easiest way to do this is by pointing it to the record that is currently selected in a gallery (Gallery1.Selected).

To have both the deep linking and the OnSelect button working in the App, you can use a variable to specify the record that should be accessed by the Form. Specify the Item on form to be varRecordToOpen. On the gallery.onselect, specify the following to set the record variable before navigating to the form screen.

Set(varRecordToOpen,Gallery1.Selected)

You can now set the same variable on the app OnStart in the event that the param is present in the URL which will tell the app that this was launced with the instruction to open a specific record, before navigating to the Form screen.

If(!IsBlank(Param("ID")),
Set(varRecordToOpen,First(Filter('Listname',ID=Value(Param("ID"))))))

Thank you so much for responding.

I added the following to the Gallery OnSelect Set(varRecordToOpen,Gallery1.Selected);Navigate(DetailScreen1, None)

Then, I added to the OnStart in the App If(!IsBlank(Param("ID")),
Set(varRecordToOpen,First(Filter('Listname',ID=Value(Param("ID"))))))

The URL with a param still works however, when I use the app, I am still getting the message Getting your data...

I tried a new app just to make sure and I am having the same issue.

Is there something else I need to change?

I am using the timer with OnTimerEnd

If(Not(IsBlank(Param("ID"))),Navigate(DetailScreen1, Cover,{device:LookUp('Listname', ID = Value(Param("ID")))}))

The Detail Form Item has First(Filter('Listname',ID=Value(Param("ID"))))

Previously, you could not do a Param() function in the OnStart section. You needed to do it in OnVisible and/or with a Timer set to AutoStart and wait a small amount of time to get this to work properly. This might still be the case.

Waited and it still is not working. I think the only thing I can do is to use this app for hyperlinking and then create another app for browsing all items.

I am hoping someone will write up how to do a hyperlink to an item and still use the same app for browsing items.

I will say that this certainly shouldn't be the case. I did this on my last published application w/ click-through to screens passing parameters from SharePoint list items. You might take just a moment to first make 100% certain the ID is passing in and being assigned (e.g. assign it to a label on-screen). That's really the most likely issue that can happen.
