SharePoint PowerApp form issue with SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)

I have a PowerApp that is a custom form for a SharePoint List.  It has multiple screens.  The main screen created automatically by PowerApp has the Sharepoint integration form in it.  I have the control for adding and removing attachments to the list item on this main screen, by exposing the SharePoint Integration form control directly (not via a custom control because I could never get a custom attachment control to work right with it).  There is a save button on the main screen as well.  All it does is SubmitForm(SharePointForm1).  It works fine for me.  However, my users click save and nothing happens.  The attachment is not saved.

My other screens are all custom controls from powerapps and I use patch on the save button.  That seems to work.  Is there any sort of permission controls within powerapps?  I even tried making one of my users an owner of the sharepoint list and it has no impact.  Also if I switch the sharepoint list to classic sharepoint forms they can save, so seems like a powerapps issue not a sharepoint issue.

I even tried making one of my users an owner of the sharepoint list

FYI, I was able to get it working again by rolling back to a previous version, then rolling back to the same version that wasnt working.

Re: SharePoint PowerApp form issue with SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)

Hi @MS_Sol,

Please first take a check of the following article for the limits when using attachment control in PowerApps.

Attachment control in PowerApps

Quoted:

"

The attachment control has the following temporary limitations:

  1. Attachment download is supported in Internet Explorer only within SharePoint custom list forms.

  2. Attachment upload only works with SharePoint list data sources. Support for other data sources will be introduced incrementally, starting with CDS.

  3. Upload and delete functionality only work inside a form. Attachment control will look disabled when in Edit mode and not inside a form. Note that in order to save the file additions and deletions to the back end, the end user must save the form.

  4. You can only upload files up to 10 MB in size.

  5. Currently, iOS devices can only upload files from documents and cloud storage accounts. To attach photos/videos, please use the web browser on your iOS device to run the app.

"

For how to customize the SharePoint custom form, see:

Customize a SharePoint list form by using PowerApps

Michael

Re: SharePoint PowerApp form issue with SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)

I dont believe what you posted is applicable.  As I said, I am using the SharePoint integration form attachment field.  I am not using a powerapps control and I am not using a control outside of the sharepoint form.  This is a SharePoint List. I am saving the form using the submitForm method.

What exactly are you saying about my scenario in not included in the functionality?

In addition, as I said, it works for me.  If it wasnt able to upload due to limitations, why would it work for me?

Make sure they other users have edit access to the site where the SP List is.

Sorry...missed that part.

Glad you got working.

I have several times gave access to an App and totally forgot about the SP List.
