SharePoint choice field in powerapps editform always gets the first list value on submit

Hi,

I have build a powerapp to create and modify items in a  sharepoint list.  There are several choice fields which are shown as dropdown lists in the Edit form in powerapps.

For one of those fields, which is setup exactly the same as the others, when the form is submitted, the field is updated to the first value of the list.  Users cannot save any other value in it.  This is really annoying!

I don't see any difference with the other choice fields, which work fine.

The name of the field = Region, the SharePoint List = Commercial Support Requests.

Properties of the field:

Items: Choices([@'Commercial Support Requests'].Region)

Default: empty

Has anyone had this problem before and knows how to solve it?

Thanks!

Eventually I removed the field from the form, added it again exactly the same as it was before, and now the problem is gone!  Strange behavior, but my problem seems to be solved.  Hope it stays that way.

@mpoppe

If your Default is not set, then the first item will always how.

Consider changing your Default to Parent.Default  noting that the Default of the DataCard should be ThisItem.Region

I hope this is helpful for you.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately the result stays the same.  If I change Region and submit, it is automatically changed back to the first value in the list.  I've checked all the properties and compared with my other choice fields in the form, I don't see any difference and the others work fine.
