SharePoint columns of 'person or group'-type missing

When I connect to a SharePoint list with PowerApps I can select all the different columns to show, use and edit. Exept for columns of the 'person or group'-type (usually used to select a user in the organisation).

Does anybody know why those columns aren't shown, and how I can get them in PowerApps?

Hello Jean-Paul,
You are correct. With SharePoint Lists, there is support for the primitive data types like text, number, yes/no, date time when using PowerApps. Complex types such as image and people are not supported yet.
You may submit your request for this on the forum: https://aka.ms/powerapps-ideas
Thank you!

Re: SharePoint columns of 'person or group'-type missing

The full list of supported/un-supported SharePoint list column types is outlined here. We do currently support the 'Person or Group' column type as read-only, so it should available.

Is possible, could you try again and let me know if you still can't see the 'Person or Group' column?

Re: SharePoint columns of 'person or group'-type missing

Sorry for the confusion. We will update the website soon. Person/Group is currently unsupported. Support for it will be coming in the future.

Re: SharePoint columns of 'person or group'-type missing

at minimum provide a method to copy multivalue persongroup string to a collection or variable so we can work with it somehow. if you can display multiple values of this type in a label it shouldn’t be a quantum leap to transfer that text on the screen to a variable. unfortunately, when i try it only grabs the first person in a multi... unless i’m doing it wrong in which case i would love to hear a solution.

Re: SharePoint columns of 'person or group'-type missing

I'm able to:

  • Create a Sharepoint custom list with a person column
  • Click "Create App" under the PowerApps tab in Sharepoint
  • Then use the native search functionality of the person column, in a search box in my PowerApp without issue.

AFAIK, this is supported now.
