Hi I have created PowerApps forms for SharePoint that work great, but for one list it does not open the form, the new button and edit/display forms do not open. There is no loading onthe mouse or indication that the page is doing anything.
The only difference in the list is that it is created from an Excel sheet that I have used the export to SharePoint function. The list comes across great but I would like to customise the form to make it easier to use.
These are the steps I use to customise the app - so I know it is connected to the list
List settings -> form settings -> customise in PowerApps
I have tried recreating the list before formatting the columns, saving the list as a template and importing it from this template.
I get the same result, the new and edit buttons not opening any forms.
As a test I created a new List in SharePoint and connected the PowerApp up fine and the buttons work here, so I think i am doing the right steps it just doesnt seem to be working for lists imported from excel?
This list has ~ 600 items, is there another way of importing this data into a list than using the export to SharePoint function in excel?
Hi @Zango ,
Do you mean that you can not edit the list that was imprted from Excel?
I've made a similar test and not met the sam problem like your description.
But I notice a setting that will lead to this problem.
Please check whether you turned on this setting, if yes, please export again, not turn on this.
Turning on this setting will make your list read-only.
Best regards,
Hi @v-yutliu-msft ,
No - I can edit the list and create new items fine before I try and add a PowerApp form to this list.
The issue is that when I attach a PowerApp as a custom form the New and Edit buttons don't do anything - I would expect them to bring up the PowerApp form, but just click them and nothing happens.
From looking online I've noticed that the Excel export to SharePoint function saves the list as a grid view, with the all items view url being default allitemsg.aspx, and in classic view it is in a grid view rather than usual list view.
Now I have recreated the list by starting the list in SharePoint, creating the columns then downloading a custom app, import from CSV, in order to upload my excel sheet.
This list allows me to add the Power App for with no problems.
Is it a limitation that you can't add PowerApp forms to datagrid lists? I couldn't find this information online.
